Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

You

“Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name, thou art mine.” (KJV)

Isaiah 43:1b

The next time you think you have an excuse why God cannot use you, remind yourself of all those people God has used!

Noah was a drunk
Abraham thought he was too old
Isaac was a daydreamer
Jacob war a liar
Leah was ugly
Joseph was abused
Moses was a murderer (as was David and Paul)
Deborah was a judge
Gideon was afraid
Samson had long hair
Rahab was a prostitute
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young
David pretended to be mentally ill, committed adultery and ran away from his own son
Elijah was suicidal
Jeremiah was depressed
Isaiah preached naked
Jonah ran away from God
Naomi was a widow
Job suffered bankruptcy
John the Baptist ate locusts
Peter was quick-tempered
John was self-righteous
The disciples fell asleep when they were told to pray
Martha was too busy to make time for Jesus
Maria was too lazy
Maria Magdalena had demons
The boy with the two fish and five loaves of bread was too unknown (and remained unknown)
The Samaritan women had many husbands
Zacchaeus was too small
Peter was too impulsive
Mark gave up too easily
Timothy had an ulcer
AND... Lazarus was dead!
