Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

Perfect

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them... And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Genesis 1,27+31

Have you studied the creation story closely? God worked six days, creating the Garden of Eden and the whole world with all living things. After each day he looked at what he had made and found that it was good.

Only on the sixth day, the day on which he created man, he looked at his work and said to himself:It is very good!

In five days he created everything that we need on this earth, so that he could put human beeings in the Garden of Eden afterwards. Man was the Culmination of his great work - and it was very good.

When I look at myself, I see many flaws, things in which I am anything but perfect. As much as I try, in my own eyes I will always remain imperfect, I'll always find something that I don't like about myself.

Whenever I am discouraged, I turn to God who created me and said: ''behold, it is very good ! ''

What matters more, what I think about myself or what God the Creator says about us? I am his beloved child, and he likes me, with all my flaws. I am wanted and created by him intentionally, just as I am. Why should I worry?

What about you, do you still see your flaws or do you let him enlighten you with his light ?

May your day be filled with blessings
