The Water Cycle

“And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted Him, saying, 'Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? How readest though? And he answering said, 'Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And He said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.”

Luke 10:25-28

A common saying is “Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you.” But, the reverse of this also applies: “Do only to others, what you yourself would like them to do to you.” Deuteronomy 6:5 says you should love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might...and your neighbors...as yourself! What has this got to do with a water cycle? People are as a rule quite blind or shortsighted! They are more likely to see the errors of others than their own. Matthew 7:3-5 “And why beholdest thou the mote that is in they brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to they brother, Let me pull out the more out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.” Our weaknesses are not as a rule the weaknesses of others, and visa versa. When we ourselves are strong, we easily judge others because of their weaknesses instead of helping them! Can the negative cycle, once lit, be broken?

The only remedy for this is forgiveness Matthew 18:21-22 “Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? 'till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.” It requires a big person together with humility to become small and make himself vulnerable. The only antidote against evil is forgiveness! God is sovereign! He steers everything, also other people. Amos 3:7 “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” God doesn't forget me, He provides for me to the smallest detail. Matthew 10:26-31 “Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.” He will avenge me shortly... (Luke 18:1-8). We should do everything unto the Lord and trust in Him Colossians 3:17 “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.” This is an action cycle which is similar to a water cycle. And this makes the following statement very clear: Christianity is not a theory or speculation, but a life!
