Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

In Remembrance!

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.''

John 3:16

It's nearly that time again. Easter stands before the door. We celebrate the salvation deed of our Redeemer on the Cross. Since forever, the clocks in the Catholic Church chime at 15h00 every Friday to remind us of the hour that Christ died. In writing this, my thoughts go to Jesus at Golgotha. I think about the horrific hours that He suffered for us.

Are people even still aware of why the clocks chime? Or are the chiming of the clock just taken for granted as part of the friday afternoon background noise. As if it is a sign of the ending of another work week.

People live in the trott of everyday life and need help so as not to forget. So, one needs to create tokens for the ears and eyes of the people. The church bells and the crucifix hanging on the wall are visible reminders. Are there even still crucifixes hanging in our homes? Unfortunately, we are living in a time where people are not just deaf and blind, but also suffer from forgetfulness.

We forget from whence we come and thus, the purpose of life is lost! God had a plan for us which was fulfilled at Golgotha. Because He is merciful, we are reminded of it again at Easter.

Jesus died for you and me at Golgotha. (Matthew 27:31-56). Yet, He did not remain dead, but was resurrected (Mark 16:1-20) and had victory over the world, death and satan! Everyone who believes this, will not be eternally lost.

This should be the “daily remembrance” in our lives.

The joyful message for you: Don't wait until Easter, because in the Bible you can read it now already! Amen

Be heartily blessed, yours
