I am currently feeling quite challenged and it is taking all my strength not to get angry. “I realize, without love it is impossible!” In my own strength, I am unable to love those who come against me. But, Jesus says: “love your enemies” (Luke 6:27-36). This is easier said than done, as where shall I find love throughout this challenge? Jesus also says: “Love thy neighbour as thyself!”. It is exasperating. When I face huge confrontations and make one mistake after the other, I can't even love myself. Either I lash out wildly or beat myself up with self-reproaches.
I once said to my future husband: “I am in the world to love”, yet yesterday we had a huge argument. I sensed the love evaporating during our argument. Suddenly we both became confrontational and there was no sign of love. It scares me with what speed human love can disappear!
The devil roars (1 Peter 5:8), he wants to try and destroy love. He hates the love towards neighbours and love that profits us. In Matthew 14:10-12 it is written that love and hate will reign in end times. When we see what is happening in the world, is it this far?!
How can we equip ourselves that we don't lose our love? What can we do to even strengthen our love?
(Ephesians 6:10-16) The armour of God is a necessary tool which protects us especially against the devil's attacks. Similarly, praying with ceasing is a vital tool to weaken and destroy his power. How awesome that God loved us first, for by doing so we too have access to His love, which we need in order to love Him and our neighbours. In 1 Corinthians it is written that a life without love is meaningless, that makes sense to me. A bell without a clapper has no sound and a person without love can do nothing. Therefore, let us have love, because He loved us first!
For, nothing is possible without love Amen
Be sincerely blessed, yours
