Crazy

''Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.''

Matthew 5:9

I like him, because he does such crazy things, the woman says about her husband. You must be crazy when you come up with an impractical plan for a surprise. I am not crazy to stick my head out for another, so to speak, when it helps a colleague out of trouble.

We often use the word “crazy”. Thereby we mean, in the true sense of the word, out of the ordinary, not according to life's norms. But, don't we secretly admire people who are capable of such things? Do they not make life better, more worth living?

The Bible says: When His own heard about it, they went out to seize Him. They said HE (Jesus) was crazy. The occasion was that He had sat at the table with publicans and sinners. With people who were ostracized and hated.

And He also taught such crazy things. Blessed are the peacemakers, the merciful. Whoever wants to be the greatest must be a servant to all. Love thy enemy.

At His farewell, He said to His disciples: In the power of the Holy Spirit you will do the work I have done, and even bigger works than these.

We should ponder upon this now and then. The world will be more humane, more beautiful, with a richer life, more fulfilled.

I wish you the courage to be “crazy” today
