The Resurrection and the Life

“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”

John 11:25

In a time when, even a German bishop denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus, it is time to become aware of this Scripture again. Whoever thinks he can omit or add anything to the Bible, should read the Bible to the end. There we find an interesting scripture:

“For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away a his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18-19)

Whoever denies the truth of the Bible, against better judgement, may no longer call himself a Christian.

The resurrection is one of the central points of our faith – everything does not end with death, we continue into eternity, either into God's glory or into eternal damnation!

We have just celebrated ascension – what kind of celebration would it be, if there was no resurrection? In Germany we celebrate father's day on this day, for me it is the day on which Jesus returned to His Father!

He, Jesus, went ahead of us. As He rose from the dead, we too will one day arise from the dead at His coming. And woe to us who are not standing on the right side...

True life is only obtained through the resurrection and Jesus wants to give us this life.

In conclusion, Paul's words, who asked these questions then already:

“Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.” (1 Corinthians 15:12-20)

Do you believe that the Bible is God's Word, or do you have your own beliefs?
Do you believe that you will be saved one day or will you end up in hell?

I wish you a blessed day in the knowledge that God will save you!
