Jesus went to the woman, took her hand, helped her up and she was healed. She immediately served Him. So simple and clear, I like that. In the Bible, stories about conversion and salvation sound so simple, in our lives it is not so simple. I wish it was different.
My mother-in-law is in the winter of her life. She is 85 years old, bed-ridden and ill. Even though we believe in the miracle of healing, we know that she won't get well again. She is old and warn out and her body is weak and frail. It won't be long before she closes her eyes forever. She doesn't feel well and she is afraid.
In the last part of the story, everyone were seeking after Jesus. Unfortunately, this is not the case with our mama. It worries us that she still hasn't made peace with God. But, we are praying around her sick-bed and telling her about Jesus. We know, as with Simon's mother-in-law, Jesus is extending His hand to her. Not so heal her physically, but to heal her soul. He is extending His hand to her, to bring her to repentance and bring peace to her unwell heart. He is extending His hand to bring her home. Home to heaven, where He will wipe away every tear from her eyes.
Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
We are confident and hope for the grace of God, and continue to pray. Please pray with us.
Be abundantly blessed, your
