Winner and loser

Today, in our youth work, we played bingo with the youth. There were many little, but nice prizes to be won. I also participated and many times it looked great at the beginning, yet at the end I lacked the right numbers. Nearly everyone won at least once during the evening – but I couldn't win a single time and continued to lose throughout the evening.

Real life takes a similar course as bingo. Some people just always seem to be winning, whilst others are always losing. Who of us don't know stages in our lives when everything seems to go wrong? Sometimes we think good fortune makes a huge curve around us and always only befall others...

There is also a winner and a loser with faith. However, co-incidence or fate has nothing to do with it. With faith everyone is 'his own fortune-maker'.

It is your own decision, whether to accept or reject the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Jesus died for your sin at the cross of Calvary – and it is your choice to either accept or decline this gift.

God wants “all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)

If someone gives you a nice gift, do you decline it? Then why don't all people rejoice over Jesus' gift and His grace for us? I think Jesus is very sad about how many people reject His gift.

How is it with you? Have you chosen God's eternal glory or do you rather want to go into eternal damnation? Is this really a question that you have to weigh carefully?

If you haven't made a decision yet – now is the day, now is the hour – tomorrow can be too late!
