Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

I see the world – widdewidde the way I want to

“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

Psalm 1:1-2

The older people will remember the title of this message. It comes from the theme song of Pippi Longstocking. Most probably every one of us would like to see the world the way we want to. Unfortunately it doesn’t work this way because all of us have different perceptions of what is beautiful and good. Everyone have their own wishes and they don’t always match up with someone else’s.

Currently, we see that here in Germany, where our elected parties have been in exploratory talks for weeks on how to proceed in Germany. Here too, everyone wants something different and no-one knows what the outcome will be.

I believe that God anticipated such situations. And that is the reason why He gave us the Bible, His holy word. When we want to, we can find guidelines for almost every situation in our lives there. The Bible is a book centred upon life and it omits nothing.

Since we are not a theocracy, all the politicians of the country, widdewidde want to do it the way they want to. There is no common foundation, egoism characterizes the political landscape and it centres around many foreign idols.

Where we no longer know what is good for our world, God has given us guidelines, whereby a meaningful co-existence can succeed. However, human pride exalts itself and wants to play God. A world in which we live well and happy ceased to exist a long time ago.

Only when we return to that which our Creator planned for us, we will find ourselves in the vicinity of paradise. However, the rulers of the world have little interest in it – and so we are living in end times, because God will not look upon our actions for much longer. Jesus will return and complete His reign here on earth – together with those who have accepted Him as their Lord and have tried to live according to His will. They will one day be able to reign with Him over the world in God’s eternal glory.

What is the foundation of your life?

I wish you a blessed day.
