Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

How do you become a person who is passionate for God

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

Acts 2:42

Some people find it easy to live and proclaim God's Word to others. For others it seems to be super difficult, opportunities never arise, or they lack courage. They become more and more inactive and leave the work to others. How do you get out of this dilemma? By motivating yourself: But our power is limited. By becoming motivated through the zeal of others. But as soon as we leave the atmosphere of the others, this circle of influence also evaporates.

God lights up the fire within us. His power is endless. Does he really move everyone? Sometimes we lack passion and are lukewarm.

The verse sounds simple, but there are four points which are vital.

Apostle Training: God's Word as our foundation for every day. Daily we can hear how old becomes new. God gives us foresight which drive us, but we are always meeting with resistance which causes the fire not be kindled.

Prayer: Alone, quietly, out loud,.... It is not about the concerns, but about us. We can wear a mask in front of others, but not before God. Then we have to be honest and we can and may change.

Fellowship: Us Christians need fellowship. Big events are sometimes really good for us. At other times we need the quietness and the intimate conversation between two, to just talk about matters of the soul. We need each other as teachers, colleagues, planners, organizers, prayers, critics,.... this list is very long. We need each other.

Breaking of bread: Jesus had to die to rise again. Before this happened, He broke bread with His disciples. Afterwards He broke bread with the disciples from Emmaus.

That is the foundation upon which God can build. We must not worry and fret. Everyone will be tasked in his own skill in his district. Then he will be able to lay himself to rest at night and sleep peacefully.

I wish you the strength and courage to be there for HIM in your skill.
