Christian devotions in the Daily-Message

You perform awesome miracles, awesome!

“Jesus answered and said unto them, ''Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.''

Matthew 21:21

Have you ever experienced water turning into wine? Have you ever seen the dead rise or a lame person who could suddenly walk? No, I haven’t seen or experienced it either!

And nevertheless we say that our God still can and does miracles today. When is a miracle a miracle? Many people like to speak of coincidence, because who still believes in miracles today? But it exists, as does coincidence, and how probable is it?

Yes, in Bible times there were still many miracles, but today? Who thinks about it?

Let me tell you a little story which I experienced recently:

Last weekend our congregation made a short excursion to a Christian guest-house. Amongst the approximately 45 partakers there was also a namesake of mine, Rainer. He has been ill for a long time and has severe pain in his legs. For this reason he had not slept for months and often sits awake on the side of his bed throughout the night; which was also the case on the night from Friday until Saturday, on the excursion.

Saturday evening we made a cosy camp-fire and we all gathered around it. At 1 am in the morning, we were still 12 people sitting there. We spoke about various topics, until one of the younger brothers said that he had the impression that we should pray for Rainer that his pain would subside, enabling him to sleep again. Done and dusted, we had a communal prayer of about 15 to 20 minutes during which time we prayed for Rainer and other sick people. Early Sunday morning, at the morning message which Rainer conducted, he appeared to be somehow more refreshed than the previous morning. After the message, we enquired as to how his night was. “I also don’t know whether my tablets worked for a change – I was able to sleep through the entire night!” he said. Thereafter, we told him about our prayers.

Do you see this as co-incidence, or an answer to prayer, a miracle of God?

More than ever before, I believe again that God still does miracles. I am positive that today’s scripture is true! When we just truly believe, we are able to perform the greatest miracles through the power of God. When we have true faith, even awesome things will be possible for us.

When are you performing your next miracle?

I wish you a blessed day!
