The employer asked the employee: “Why do you work for us?” - “For the weekend!” - “I mean long-term, what are your goals?” - “Holiday!”
The holidays in some parts of Germany are over, in some states they continue a bit longer, but are also nearly over. Thereafter, it means back to work or school again. Some of us look at the calendar to see when the next holiday begins. So they get through the year, always waiting.
Unfortunately, the holidays only take up a small part of the year. Those who live like that are in bondage and miss a great part of their lives. When the only purpose of work or school is to pass time until the next “holiday” then we are wasting our time.
Freedom, in contrast, is when we utilize every day, when we find meaning and purpose in every day. Joy in life is not fate, real joy is a decision. And when I allow myself to be inspired by God, by the Holy Spirit, I am able to enjoy life in the freedom of the Spirit.
I look forward to (almost) every day. Also when there is a lot of work to do, or things are not as I would wish them to be. I know that I am God's beloved child – and that gives me pleasure every day. Every day that I wish away, is lost time in my life, is bondage and futile.
God wants to give us freedom – and we should accept this and live our lives as a gift from Him. Certainly, I look forward to my next holiday, yet every other day is a gift from God to me!
So, I wish you a blessed day, with the freedom to enjoy your life!
